ONTRA PRESENTATIONS INKS WARNER BROS. DOMESTIC
TELEVISION DISTRIBUTION, THE LATEST NETWORK TO MAKE THE SWITCH TO
ONTRA
Joining the ranks of ABC National Television
Sales, NBC Television Sales & Marketing, Tribune Entertainment
Company and Telemundo, Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution
Will Use Ontra Presentation Software When Presenting to Major Advertisers
During the Annual Network Upfronts
January 27, 2004 (New York, NY) - Ontra Presentations (www.ontrapresentations.com),
the multimedia software and services company at the forefront of
multimedia technologies, announced today the signing of Warner Bros.
Domestic Television Distribution. The creator of such esteemed and
popular television shows as Friends, Will & Grace, Ellen and
Access Hollywood is the latest major television power in succession
to join Ontra. The deal will see Warner Bros. DTD using Ontra Presentation
software as their exclusive presentation platform when presenting
to major advertisers during the 2004/2005 advertising Upfronts and
beyond.
“We’re extremely pleased that Warner Bros. Domestic
Television Distribution has made the move. We have created our software
to accommodate the kind of crucial, large-scale presentations that
are used in the television industry,” says James Ontra, CEO
and co-founder of Ontra Presentations. “Audiences are tired
of sitting through PowerPoint™ presentations, where they are
force-fed endless bullet-points of information. They are craving
presentations that are less rigid, more engaging and ultimately,
more entertaining.”
The signing of Warner Bros. is a significant move for both companies
for a number of reasons. First and foremost, with its suite of features
currently unseen in any presentations technology, Ontra Presentation
software will allow for Warner Bros. DTD to have a unique large-scale
presentation for the 2004/2005 Upfronts and beyond. The Ontra Presentation
software will give Warner Bros. DTD the ability to create multimedia
presentations with hundreds of slides that incorporate large amounts
of video, audio, and rich graphics (such as interactive diagrams,
pictures, charts and graphs). The software also comes complete with
a network, or distributed, solution that can manage their geographically
dispersed sales force, assuring a consistent and updated presentation
every time, no matter where the presentation is being given. However,
the technological advances are only part of the equation . With
its distinctive approach to presentations and the mindset behind
them, Ontra Presentations is ushering in a new era for dynamic multimedia
presentation technology.
Major corporations, like those in the television industry, are tiring
of the linear, rigid, step-by-step format of Microsoft’s PowerPoint™
. As a matter of fact, a businessman standing next to a white screen,
presenting slide after slide of charts and graphs has become an
American symbol of corporate boredom. One of the reasons for this
is that presentations like PowerPoint™ do not cater to the
way the human mind thinks. The mind does not think in a linear format;
rather it wanders from topic to topic. Questions need to be answered
in the order and with the priority that a prospect assigns them,
and not according to the design or whim of the presenter. The Ontra
Presentation software creates presentations that have the ability
to follow the human mind by presenting information in an interactive
sequence rather than a linear one. With Ontra, meetings become fluid
and interactive rather than rigid and stale.
“We understand that people don’t think in a pre-determined
format. Rather, the mind tends to wander,” says AlexAnndra
Ontra, President and co-founder of Ontra Presentations. “We
created Ontra to mimic that behavior for a business meeting, where
digressions and unforeseen questions inevitably arise.”
