Like many great software companies, Ontra Presentations software started with IBM. When PCs first became equipped with sound and motion, IBM needed a multimedia opening sequence for their new Thinkpad™ and APTIVA™ models. The opening sequence needed to be translated into 24 languages. Structuring the software on a database was the most efficient means to support 24 versions. Since then, the software has been used by more than 250 business groups within major corporations and has approximately $20MM invested in it to date. In 2002, Ontra Presentations acquired a perpetual worldwide, royalty free license to sell and develop the software.
